After a full day working clearing an acre of brush and trees, including moving a 2 ton stump from one end of the yard to another area where it will be hauled away, SM students toured the Pueblo. Some of the apartment like structures made of straw, water and earth, are over 1000 years old. To celebrate their hard work, we traveled down to a beach along the Rio Grande and cooled off ( actually, it was freezing). Tonight we will hear about the culture and folklore of Hispanic New Mexico from Dr. Torres, professor of History at the University of New Mexico.
